OUR STORY

John and Kiri Faiz have been pastoring in Palmerston North since 2004. In 2012 God called John and Kiri to start a new work in our city and on the 4th of November 2014 they started Legacy. John and Kiri started Legacy with just four other people and in a short space of time God has grown it into a vibrant, multicultural church that is making a difference in our city.

“WE SET OUT TO BUILD A CHURCH FOR LOST PEOPLE”

Legacy is a church with a big heart for the disadvantaged, marginalised and broken. One of the most significant things that we do as a church is operate Legacy Centre, a community centre that is based in the heart of Highbury.

Legacy Centre runs a number of ministries to reach out to and care for the poor in our city. Last year we gave out 13,020 meals to hungry people, 5,028 of which were given to children. We partnered with Shepherd’s Rest to operate 67 emergency boarding rooms and help 132 adults who had nowhere to go. We helped a number of people overcome serious addiction. We also ran an op shop that partnered with Orphans Aid International, She Home and A21 to help orphans and rescue victims of human trafficking.
