OUR VALUES
We have seven core values as a church. Each of these things are important to us as a church and define who we are.
We value God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit above all else. We are passionate about God and refuse to wane in our zeal or spiritual fervour. We are wholehearted, energetic and expressive in our praise. We see everything we do as an act of worship.
We value people. We refuse to get so busy doing ministry that we don't have time for people. We value people no matter where they have come from, what they believe or what they are doing. Jesus didn't die for programmes he died for people. Every person is created in God's image and is infinitely valuable to him.
We will do whatever it takes to reach people. The church does not exist for us, we are the church and we exist for the world. We care that people in our city are living without the light of Christ. We care that people in our city are hurting, going hungry, living on the streets, are in and out of prison, are addicted to drugs, are being abused, are unemployed, are taking their own lives, etc. We can either judge people and be part of the problem or help people and be part of the solution; we choose to be part of the solution.
We value meeting together and our relationships with one another. We know the devil is always trying to divide and conquer and we fight to protect unity in our local church and in the wider church. Independence will always keep us small. Two are better than one. We can do way more together than we ever could by ourselves. God is not going to use me by myself but us together as the church to change the world.
We will never insult God with small thinking or safe living. We are always going to step out, push forward and take risks to advance God's kingdom. With man it is impossible but with God all things are possible. God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than all we ask or think or imagine.
We are a glass half-full people. God is good, he is for us and he will work everything together in our lives for our good. We are overcommers, more than conquers and victorious because of the finished work of Christ.
We refuse to pretend. We are honest about our weaknesses, our struggles and our victories. We know that God is attracted to our weaknesses rather than our strengths and that he is more interested in people that are always real than people who are always right.
